ANNOYING MESSENGER POPUPS THAT ARE INVADING YOUR EMAIL

First of all, I want to stress - This has nothing to do with
MSN Messenger.

If you don't know anything about these Messenger Popups - then you're in for a surprise - just as I was. It seems that my computer invited them to invade, without my knowledge or consent.

This new, and very intrusive form of unsolicited advertising is the newest form of spam email sweeping across the internet. These popup spam ads are now known as messenger spam or webpopup.

These ads are generated by a software program that searches the web, and scans blocks of IP addresses [your computer] with an open port 135. If it finds this open port on your Computer/PC it then automatically sends you massive amounts of those unwanted grey popup ads.

This can happen even if you have no other programs open like MSN messenger, email client or browser.

On my computer, these intrusive ads went from 5 a week to about 10 a day. I had finally had engouh. I searched for the solution on the internet - and found most sites are attempting to profit from this problem. While their charges are minimal - they are profiteers just the same.

Here is the simple 4 step solution and stop the popups - at no cost. I checked with a programmer first, I then put in the information. I didn't even realize that this "messenger popup program" was running automatically on my machine - allowing this intrusion!

These 4 easy steps will turn off the messenger service used to send messenger service popup ads. The Messenger service is not related to Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger.:

  1. Go to Start, then Run and type in services.msc Click Ok
  2. Scroll to Messenger, select it, right click it and choose Properties.
  3. Under startup choose "Disabled", then choose Stop.
  4. When stopped, click Ok.

No more Popups!

I guess this makes me wonder if anything else is inviting intruders onto my computer. I also wonder why the manufacturer had this feature "turned on" in the first place, what was it really meant for, and what else are scammers and spys going to utilize on my computer to invade?
